The Sóller municipal tourist office runs from a historic railway carriage on Plaça d'Espanya, next to the train station. It is the best place to ask for maps, walking routes and transport timetables. Phone: 971 63 80 08.
Sóller town council also lists an office in Port de Sóller, on Carrer de la Marina. Opening hours change with the season and we do not publish them here to avoid giving you outdated information: check ajsoller.net or call before you go.

Health and emergencies
In any emergency call 112, free and valid across the European Union.
- Public health centre: the Centre de Salut Serra Nord (IB-Salut) is at Camí des Camp Llarg 18 and has a continuous care point. Book appointments at ibsalut.es.
- Private clinic: Centro Médico Quirónsalud Sóller is at Carrer de Sa Mar 163 (tel. 971 634 333).

Pharmacies
Sóller and the Port have pharmacies during normal shop hours. Outside those hours a rotating on-duty pharmacy (farmacia de guardia) system applies: a closed pharmacy usually shows on its door which one is on duty. The Balearic pharmacists' association publishes the current rota.
Money and payments
There are ATMs in Sóller and the Port, and most restaurants, hotels and shops accept cards. Carry some cash for the weekly market and small businesses. If an ATM offers to convert the amount into your own currency, choose to pay in euros: it usually works out cheaper.
Internet and wifi
Many hotels, cafes and restaurants offer wifi for customers. Mobile coverage can drop on Tramuntana trails and roads, so download offline maps before heading out. With an EU SIM card, roaming works at no extra cost.
Shopping and the weekly market
The Soller market takes place on Saturdays in the town centre, with local produce, crafts and clothing. It is the best time to buy oranges and local products. Outside the market, many small shops close on public holidays.
Festivals and public holidays
- Es Firó: in May, on the Monday after the second Sunday. A Moors and Christians re-enactment of the pirate raid of 11 May 1561, with the final battle on the Port beach.
- Sant Bartomeu: in August, the festivities of Sóller's patron saint.
- Public holidays: many shops close. Check the Balearic Islands working calendar.
If you travel on these dates, book your accommodation well in advance.
Languages
People in Sóller speak Catalan (the Mallorcan variety) and Spanish. In hotels and restaurants, especially in the Port, staff often also speak English and German. A "bon dia" or a "gràcies" is always appreciated.
Safety
Sóller is a calm destination. Usual precautions: do not leave valuables visible in the car, watch your wallet in crowded places and check the weather before a mountain hike, as it changes quickly in the mountains. At the beach, respect the flags. For any incident, call 112.
Accessibility
The centre of Sóller has cobbled streets and some slopes; the Port promenade is flat and the Port beach has adapted access. If you have reduced mobility, ask at the tourist office, at your hotel or with the transport provider you plan to use.
