What parking in Soller is like
The Soller valley receives many day visitors, most of them by car, and both the town and the Port have few free spaces. Outside the season it is rarely a problem; between April and October, and above all in July and August, arrive early or consider another option.
The town council manages parking with a paid blue zone (ORA) and a green zone for residents, run by the municipal company Sóller 2010. Exact rates are shown on the meters and in the app and may change, so we do not list them here.
Blue zone, green zone and white spaces
- Blue (ORA): paid parking, both on the street and in public car parks marked in blue. Pay at the meter or with the app.
- Green (ZAR): reserved for authorised residents. If you are not one, do not park there: the council states a fine of 90 euros.
- White: free spaces. There are few and they fill quickly, especially in summer. Always check signs for time limits.
This section is based on the official council information (ajsoller.net).
Official ORA hours
According to the council, the ORA is enforced every day of the year, in two seasons:
| Area | High season (1 Mar - 15 Nov) | Low season (16 Nov - end of Feb) |
|---|---|---|
| Streets and car parks in Soller town | 9:00 to 20:00 | 9:30 to 18:30 |
| Sa Calatrava car park (Soller) | 7:00 to 21:00 | 9:30 to 18:30 |
| Streets and car parks at the Port (blue zone) | 10:00 to 19:00 | No paid control in the Port blue zones, per council information |
| C/ Lepanto car park (Port) | 7:00 to 22:00 | Check at the car park |
The 2025 and 2026 council leaflets do not word the low season rules at the Port identically: always check the signs in each zone or visit soller2010.com/info/ora.
Public car parks in Soller and the Port
These are the best-known car parks. We do not give capacities or prices because no official source we could check publishes them.
| Car park | Area | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sa Calatrava (C/ d'Adela Olivér Llinás) | Soller town | Underground, paid | Only spaces marked blue are public; the rest are for residents. Stated maximum height: 2.15 m |
| Park Municipal (Av. 11 de Mayo) | Port de Soller | Paid, pay-and-display | Fills early in high season. Accepts the EasyPark app |
| C/ Lepanto | Port de Soller | Paid | Longer enforcement hours than the rest of the Port |
| Car parks and spaces around the harbour and beach | Port de Soller | Blue zone | Closest to the promenade; the first to fill |
| Long-stay car park | Soller | Municipal | Listed by Sóller 2010; check location and conditions on their website |
How to pay and what to do if you get a fine
- Meter: follow the machine's instructions. Not all accept cards, so carry some cash.
- EasyPark app: lets you pay and extend your time from your phone in Soller and the Port; machines show a QR code.
- Visible ticket: leave it clearly displayed on the windscreen.
- Fines: the council allows cancellation within 48 hours by paying 20 euros if there was no ticket or it was not visible, or 10 euros for overstaying in a blue zone. Pay at the meter, at the Sóller 2010 office (C/ Hospici, 2; Monday to Friday 9:30 to 14:00) or by bank transfer.
Low emission zone in the centre
The built-up centre of Soller, as marked on the council map, is a low emission zone. According to the council, only zero-emission or authorised vehicles may drive in, and the stated penalty is 200 euros.
Before entering with a rental car, check the map at soller2010.com/info/ora and ask your accommodation. The simplest option is to park on the edge of town or at Sa Calatrava and walk through the centre.
Leave the car and take the tram to the Port
The Port is about 3 km from the centre and is where parking is hardest in summer. A strategy that works: park in Soller (where there is usually more room) and ride down to the Port on the Soller tram, which runs to the seafront. You avoid hunting for a space, paying the Port ORA and driving back in traffic.

Soller tunnel: no more toll
The Ma-11 road from Palma enters the valley through the Soller tunnel. The toll was removed in late December 2017, when the Consell de Mallorca bought out the concession, and passage has been free since. The Coll de Sóller (Ma-11A) remains the mountain alternative, with many bends.
To plan the whole trip, see how to get to Soller.
Motorhomes and campervans
We did not find a specific official council rule for motorhomes at the Port. A community motorhome guide mentions a small car park at the Port with few spaces, a length limit and a maximum stay, but this is unofficial and may have changed.
If you travel in a large vehicle, check the height of underground car parks, follow the signs in each zone and ask Sóller 2010 first (ora@soller2010.com). Camping or overnighting outside authorised areas may be prohibited.
Tips by season
- July and August: arrive before 10:00 or leave the car in Soller and take the tram.
- April to June and September to October: usually space, but the ORA already runs every day.
- November to February: shorter hours in Soller (9:30 to 18:30) and, per the council, no paid control in the Port blue zones. Confirm the signs.
- Bad weather: check Soller weather first.
Where to park for free in Sóller
This is the question that comes up most on traveller forums. These are the options we could check, from most to least reliable:
- Cemetery car park (Carrer de Pau Noguera 81, next to the municipal cemetery): the mallorca.com directory lists it as free, open access 24 hours and with no time limit. The surface is compacted earth, with no asphalt or road markings, and there is little shade. The listing gives no number of spaces and says it fills quickly at certain times, though there is usually room. This is directory information, not official: confirm the conditions on arrival.
- From the cemetery to the centre: about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, downhill. The way back is uphill, more tiring in the heat.
- White spaces: no charge, but few and possibly time-limited. Read the sign.
- Outside ORA hours: blue zones are not charged outside the hours in the table above, but the green zone stays residents-only.
- Port de Sóller in low season: according to municipal information, there is no payment control in the Port's blue zones between 16 November and the end of February.
Watch your satnav: the centre is a low-emission zone and some listings warn that automatic routes go through it. Set the car park as your destination, not the village square.
Where to park in Port de Sóller
The Port has fewer spaces than the town and serves beach-goers, promenade visitors and boat passengers at once. The concrete places you can use:
- Park Municipal (Av. 11 de Mayo): paid, with a meter and the EasyPark app. It is the first to fill in high season.
- C/ Lepanto: paid, controlled from 7:00 to 22:00 in high season.
- Blue street spaces around the harbour and the Platja: the closest to the promenade, so the first to go.
- Other car parks: the mallorca.com directory also lists an "Aparcamiento Sa Platja" and other Port car parks, with no price or capacity data. Check on site.
If the Port is full, do not circle: park in Sóller and go down by tram. More about the village and the promenade in the Port de Sóller guide.
Park and ride: park outside and walk or take the tram
The most comfortable summer strategy combines an outlying car park with public transport:
- Leave the car at the cemetery car park (free according to the directory) or at Sa Calatrava (paid, underground).
- Walk into the centre, about 10 to 15 minutes from the cemetery.
- To reach the Port, board the tram; times and tickets are in its guide.
This way you avoid the low-emission zone, the search for a space in the Port and the Port ORA.
Sundays, public holidays and overnight parking
- Sundays and holidays: according to the town hall, the ORA is controlled every day of the year, so you also pay on Sundays during control hours.
- At night: outside ORA hours blue zones are not charged, but the green zone is for residents at any hour. Do not sleep overnight in a motorhome or van outside authorised areas.
- Several days: if you stay in Sóller, ask your accommodation whether it has parking. For long stays, Sóller 2010 advertises a municipal long-stay car park; confirm location and conditions on its website.
Local tips for stress-free parking
- Arrive before 10:00 in July and August; the valley fills up by mid-morning.
- Do not drive into the centre: it is a low-emission zone. Park outside and walk.
- On Saturdays there is a market in the centre, so expect more people and fewer spaces.
- Pay with the app and extend your time from your phone if you stay longer; the fine for exceeding the time in a blue zone can be cancelled within 48 hours by paying 10 euros.
- Always check the colour: blue is paid, green is residents, white is free but limited.
- In the Port, go without a car in high summer: tram or bus from the village.
