Getting around Soller: overview
This guide is about getting around within the valley: Soller, Port de Soller, Biniaraix and Fornalutx. For the trip from Palma or the airport, see getting to Soller, and for leaving the car, the parking in Soller guide.
The valley is compact: according to a Palma airport guide, the drive by car or taxi between the town and the Port is about 5 km and 10 minutes. Many visitors therefore combine tram, walking and cycling and use a taxi only for specific legs.
Soller taxi: phone number, ranks and booking
- Phone: the official TIB website (tib.org) lists the Asociacion Taxis Soller with 971 63 84 84, the same number printed in the Enjoy Soller 2026 tourist guide by Veu de Soller. Check the number when you call in case it changes.
- Fornalutx: the same guide gives Fornalutx its own taxi number, 615 59 59 63.
- Taxi rank: the map in Enjoy Soller 2026 marks a taxi rank in the town. We could not confirm its exact location or a fixed rank in Port de Soller; when you book, ask where you will be picked up.
- How to book: the safest way is to call and agree the pick-up point, time, number of people and bags. Book ahead in summer and at night.
- Uber and similar: Uber has operated around Palma since June 2023, and its legal status is still being contested in 2026. We found no data on service in Soller; Cabify and other apps are unconfirmed. If you must be sure to get a ride, book a taxi.

Taxi fares in Mallorca (2025-2026 reference)
Balearic Decree 20/2025 (BOIB, 24 May 2025) allows a common reference tariff in Mallorca that municipalities can join. According to the mallorca.com taxi rates guide, which summarises the decree with approximate 2025/2026 values:
| Item | Tariff 1 (weekday, daytime) | Tariff 2 (night, weekends, holidays) |
|---|---|---|
| Flag fall | about 2.50 euros | about 2.85 euros |
| Price per km | about 1.20 euros | about 1.35 euros |
- Airport and port supplement: about 4.65 euros per trip, not per person.
- Minimum from the airport: about 16.95 euros.
- Luggage: no surcharge; suitcases, pushchairs, wheelchairs and guide dogs travel free.
Calculated examples (estimates): on Tariff 1 and 5 km between Soller and the Port, 2.50 + 5 x 1.20 = about 8.50 euros. From the airport to Port de Soller, with about 33 km to Soller plus about 5 km, that is about 38 km: 2.50 + 38 x 1.20 + 4.65 = about 53 euros. The mallorca.com guide gives a daytime range of 50 to 60 euros for airport to Port de Soller. These are estimates, not fixed prices.
Important: we could not confirm that Soller has joined this tariff or the interurban tariff in force in 2026, and municipalities that have not joined may charge slightly different rates. Ask for an estimated price when booking and check the meter.
Private transfers and taxi trips
Taxis from Soller, Fornalutx and Deia can also be used for trips to other points in the valley and the Tramuntana (for example trailheads or coves). For the airport-to-valley transfer, which is what most people search for (for example "taxi from Palma airport to Port de Soller"), see getting to Soller, which compares taxi, bus, train and car.
Private transfer companies bookable online usually fix the price at booking, unlike a metered taxi. Compare both and check what is included (luggage, waiting time, night rate).
TIB bus within the valley
According to Enjoy Soller 2026 and TIB, these lines serve Soller:
| Line | Route | Useful for |
|---|---|---|
| 232 | Port de Soller - Soller - Biniaraix - Fornalutx | The valley villages bus |
| 204 | Port de Soller - Soller - Palma (via the Ma-11) | Palma, and also Soller-Port |
| 203 | Port de Soller - Soller - Deia - Valldemossa - Palma | Deia and the coast |
| 231 | Port de Soller - Soller - Fornalutx - Escorca/Lluc - Pollenca - Alcudia | The north of the island |
Since 21 May 2025, lines 203, 204, 231 and 232 have two new stops, Son Angelats 1 and 2, next to Soller's municipal sports centre. Timetables and exact stops are at tib.org, or on the TIB phone number printed in the guide, 971 17 77 77. In 2026 a seat-reservation trial was reported on line 203, so check whether you need to book. Free travel with the card and bus-to-Palma details are in getting to Soller.
The tram between Soller and the Port
The Soller tram links the town centre with the seafront in the Port. It is the most characteristic local transport and often the easiest in summer, because it avoids the car jams in the Port. Timetables, stops and tickets are in the Soller tram guide.

Car rental in Soller and Port de Soller
Comparison sites show a few agencies with an office in Port de Soller and some in Soller, but most rental cars are picked up at Palma airport. We do not name companies or prices because they depend on the date; check availability and conditions (minimum age, deposit) directly with the company.
A car lets you reach coves and viewpoints in the Tramuntana, but parking in the valley gets hard in summer and the town centre is a low-emission zone. See parking in Soller before you decide.
Bike and e-bike hire
You can hire bikes in Soller and in the Port:
- Tramuntana Tours: a shop in Soller (Carrer de sa Lluna) and a second point in the Port. It hires mountain, electric, road and kids' bikes and allows returns at another shop, according to the seemallorca.com and mallorca.com directories.
- Bike and Bakes (Paseo Playa, Port de Soller): bike hire always with advance booking by web or phone, according to Enjoy Soller 2026.
Directories do not publish reliable prices, so ask before you go. The area is very popular with cyclists, with demanding mountain roads; if you are not very fit, an e-bike helps.
We could not confirm any specific scooter or moped rental in Soller.
Walking between Soller, the Port, Biniaraix and Fornalutx
Approximate distances, with no official times:
- Soller - Port: about 5 km by road; some walk it, but most prefer the tram.
- Soller - Biniaraix: about 20 minutes on foot from the centre, according to an accommodation listing. A short stroll.
- Soller - Fornalutx: around 7 km on foot (about two hours according to a user-logged track), on Tramuntana paths.
Check the route in a trail app before setting out and carry water. In summer avoid the middle of the day.
Comparison: what to use for each trip
| Mode | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Taxi | Luggage, night, small groups | Book by phone; price by meter |
| Tram | Soller to the Port in style | Avoids Port parking |
| TIB bus 232 | Biniaraix and Fornalutx | Check timetables on tib.org |
| Rental car | Coves and viewpoints beyond the valley | Limited summer parking |
| Bike or e-bike | Exploring the valley at your pace | Advance booking at some shops |
| Walking | Biniaraix and short strolls | Approximate distances |
Night transport and accessibility
At night: we could not verify night timetables for the bus or tram, so the most reliable option is a taxi booked in advance. Check the last tram and bus departures with the official sources.
Accessibility: according to the mallorca.com guide, wheelchairs and pushchairs travel with no surcharge in taxis. If you need an adapted vehicle, ask when booking, since we could not confirm which ones have one. Cobbled, sloping streets in the villages can be uncomfortable.
