Editorial policy
Sóller en Mallorca is an independent digital publication about the Sóller valley and Port de Sóller. We publish news and practical guides for visitors and residents: transport, roadworks, regulations, festivals, services and alerts. This page explains how we work.
Who is behind it
The editor and owner of the site is Cristian Felipe Romero San Martín, based in Palma de Mallorca. Full details are in the legal notice, and more about the project on the about us page.
News is signed by the Sóller en Mallorca newsroom.
What we publish
- News from Sóller, the Port, Fornalutx, Biniaraix, Deià and the Serra de Tramuntana that matters to visitors and residents, in the News section.
- Practical guides on what to see, how to get there, where to stay and eat, walks and activities.
We do not publish crime reports naming individuals, rumours or party-political content.
Sources and fact-checking
- Every story is checked against at least two independent sources or one official source (Sóller Town Council, Consell de Mallorca, Balearic Government, TIB, Sóller Railway, BOIB).
- We cite and link our sources in the text.
- If sources disagree, we say so or do not publish.
- We do not publish prices, timetables or figures that are not in a verifiable source.
- We write in our own words: we do not copy or republish other outlets' articles.
- We use artificial intelligence tools to help research, organise and draft the information. The editor reviews and approves every text before it is published.
Dates and updates
Every story shows its publication date. When the facts change, we update the same page and show the date of the latest update instead of publishing a duplicate. When a story has an end date (a road closure, a temporary shutdown), we review it when that date arrives.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, write to info@sollerenmallorca.com with the page and the detail. We review every report, fix confirmed errors as soon as possible and, if a correction changes the meaning of a story, we say so in the text.
Independence and advertising
The site is funded by Google AdSense advertising. Ads are served automatically and do not influence what we publish or recommend. We do not accept payment for news coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as such.
Images
We use our own photos or freely licensed images with credit. We do not use photographs from other outlets.
