What the Sóller railway has announced
The official Ferrocarril de Sóller website shows two closure notices for this winter. The train, which runs from Palma to Sóller via Bunyola, stops from 23 November 2026 until 1 February 2027. The tram, which runs from Sóller town down to the Port, closes from the same day until 22 December 2026, with an alternative bus service during that period.
The local weekly El Sóller gives the same dates: service stops on 23 November, the tram returns on 22 December and the train on 1 February. The train has taken a winter break in previous years too, reopening in early February.
Note that some outlets report 23 November as the start of a winter timetable with the train still running. That does not match the official website, which is what we follow here.
Train times until 22 November
Since Monday 2 November the train has run fewer services ahead of the closure. These times match on the official website and in El Sóller:
| Direction | Departures |
|---|---|
| Palma - Sóller | 10:30, 12:50, 15:10 and 18:00 |
| Sóller - Palma | 9:00, 11:40, 14:00 and 17:00 |
The official website also lists some departures to be confirmed at the ticket office. We do not give tram times: the sources disagree on how many services run these weeks. Check the Ferrocarril de Sóller timetable page or at the stop.
Fares are unchanged: see the Sóller train price in 2026.
What it means if you visit Sóller this winter
Our practical reading of the official dates:
- Until 22 November: you can still take the train trip, with four departures each way. Pick your time before heading to the station.
- 23 November to 22 December: no train and no tram. The alternative bus covers the tram route to the Port.
- 22 December to 1 February: the tram runs again between Sóller and the Port, but the train is still closed.
- From 1 February 2027: the train is back, according to the official notice.
If your trip falls right on one of these dates, check the official website to see whether there is service that day.
Getting to Sóller and the Port without the train
- TIB bus from Palma: line 204 links Palma, Sóller and the Port. Check the winter timetable at tib.org. Coming along the coast, line 203 (Valldemossa, Deià, Port de Sóller) keeps its summer timetable in November: see our line 203 news.
- By car: on the Ma-11 through the tunnel, or over the Coll de Sóller. Until 19 November the tunnel closes at night Monday to Thursday. For parking, see parking in Sóller.
- Taxi or transfer: options in taxi and transport.
Every way to get there is in getting to Sóller.
What we don't know yet, and sources
The official website does not give times or stops for the replacement bus, or the tram timetable from 22 December. We will update this article when they are published.
