What happened
Sóller town hall has opened a call for the community to help build the Christmas programme. Under the slogan "Feim Nadal entre tots" (Catalan for roughly "let's make Christmas together"), it invites organisations, associations and anyone who wants to run an activity during the festive season to submit a proposal.
The deadline is 13 November. Proposals go by email to the festivals address published in the town hall notice. The notice includes an image with the programme or poster, but the text we could read does not say which types of activity are accepted or on which dates they will take place.
What it means for visitors
This part is our own reading, not something stated in the notice:
- No events are confirmed yet: the call comes before the programme. If you plan to visit over Christmas, wait for the town hall to publish the calendar.
- If you live or work in Sóller, this is a chance to suggest a market, a concert, a children's activity or anything else you would like to organise, provided the town hall accepts it.
- Check the calendar: once a programme exists we will reflect it in the cultural calendar and festivals.
- For transport, check bus and train timetables for those dates: see getting to Sóller.
How to take part
- Read the official town hall notice and copy the email address it gives.
- Describe your activity: what it is, who organises it, and where and when you would like to hold it.
- Send it before 13 November.
- The town hall will then decide what goes into the programme; the notice does not describe the selection process.
What we do not know yet
We do not know which activities will be accepted, the selection criteria, the programme dates or when it will be published. We will update this page when the town hall releases the programme.
