What changes on line 203
Mallorca's intercity bus network (TIB) switches to winter timetables on 1 November. On most lines the previous winter's base is kept and some reinforcements are added. Line 203, which runs along the Tramuntana coast between Valldemossa, Deià and Port de Sóller, is a useful exception for travellers: during November it keeps its summer timetable.
According to TIB and the information released by the Balearic government, that means, on weekdays, seven more trips from Valldemossa towards Palma and six more towards Port de Sóller. At weekends, five and seven more trips respectively are added. Overall, service rises by close to 40% compared with last November.
Other island lines, such as 101, 102, 103 and 104, also get reinforcements. Full timetables are on the TIB website.
What it means if you are visiting Sóller
This is our practical reading, not a figure from the announcement:
- Deià and the coast: in November you will have more outward and return options to combine Deià, Valldemossa and Port de Sóller in a single day without a car. Check the timetable for your exact day before leaving.
- Direction of the extra trips: the figures separate Valldemossa-Palma from Valldemossa-Port de Sóller. If you need a specific connection, check the exact time on tib.org.
- End of the month: the information refers to November. From December the timetable may change, so check it if you travel later.
- Other lines to Sóller: line 204 (Palma, Sóller, Port de Sóller), 231 and 232 do not appear in these notices. We give no figures for them because we have not verified them: check their current timetable.
For other ways to arrive, see getting to Sóller, the Sóller train or taxi and transport.
How to check your timetable
- Go to tib.org, choose the line and the date of your trip.
- Check that the time matches your day: weekday, Saturday, or Sunday and public holiday.
- Save the timetable or a screenshot in case of changes during your trip.
- If you depend on the bus for an important connection, such as a flight, leave a margin and have a backup plan.
What we do not know yet
The notices do not say what will happen to line 203 from December, nor do they detail the times of the new trips. They also do not mention lines 204, 231 and 232, so we cannot confirm whether they change.
